Jatinegara Ramps Up Social Outreach and Alcohol Crackdown for Ramadan

Jatinegara Satpol PP personnel, East Jakarta, are intensifying social welfare sweeps and unlicensed liquor raids throughout Ramadan.

This operation involves 50 joint personnel

Jatinegara Satpol PP Head, Teguh Nurdin Amali stated that these stepped-up operations are essential to maintaining public decorum and ensuring community safety.

"This operation involves 50 joint personnel, including army and police," he expressed, Thursday (3/12).

PPKS Raids in Kelapa Gading During Ramadan Intensified

According to him, this action is also designed to foster a serene environment, allowing the Muslim community to observe the holy month without distraction.

"We are touching hotspots for people with social issues (PPKS), as well as the sale of illicit liquor, narcotics, and firecrackers," he explained.

Late Wednesday night, personnel identified five PPKS near Jalan Bekasi Timur and Jatinegara Station. They comprised one individual with a mental health condition, one homeless person, and three street buskers.

"All five were immediately transferred to the Ceger Social House in Cipayung for professional care and rehabilitation," he expressed.

He added that the operation netted 60 bottles of assorted liquor from a convenience store on Jalan KH Abdullah Syafii.

Further, personnel uncovered 235 restricted 'Group G' pills suspected of being sold illegally at a cosmetics shop on Jalan Raya Otista, Bidara Cina Urban Village.

"We also confiscated 12 firecrackers. All seized contraband is slated for destruction in accordance with existing legal protocols," he emphasized.
